Team Eligibility
  1. Teams must be made up of 4 participants maximum.
  2. All members of the team must be present at the event.
Submission Rules
  1. You must disclose any use of AI tools or models in your projects. 
    1. AI models should not be used to generate content that infringes on intellectual property rights or violates applicable laws.
    2. AI-generated content must be clearly labelled as such.
  2. You must produce original work and not copy or plagiarize code, designs, or other materials from external sources without proper attribution.
    1. Submitting ANY work that has been completed before the hackathon is prohibited.
    2. Soliciting or receiving inappropriate assistance from individuals outside the hackathon team is considered cheating.
  3. You must respect the intellectual property rights of others, including copyrights, trademarks, and patents.
    1. Use of open-source software or libraries must comply with their respective licences.
  4. Projects must not promote or engage in illegal activities, violence, hate speech, or discrimination.
  5. You must not attempt to sabotage or interfere with the work of other teams. 

Dates & Eligibility

The hacking period of GreatUniHack will take place from 9th November 12:00pm Saturday to 10th November 12:00pm Sunday. Submission will open at 2 hours before hacking ends.

To be eligible to apply, you must be a university student and 18+. Applicants which have been accepted via our application form and RSVPed are eligible to submit. Applications will open sometime in September on our website - this will be posted on all of our socials and Discord.

Judging Criteria and Winner Selection

  • Effort:

    • Are the project execution ideas coherent? Or are they just inconsistent features put together in the same application? 
    • How much effort is put into clearly thinking and building the project? 
    • Has the project idea expanded to its potential yet? 
    • How does the project compare to the others in terms of completeness? 
    • How impressive are the small details of the project, such as the functionalities?
  • Innovation:
    • How does the project idea stand out among the others? 
    • Does it try to solve a niche problem that is not already solved? 
    • What new technologies have the team learnt and used to create the project? 
    • Is the project idea creative and surprising?
  • Design:

    • Does the project involve the use of impressive technology? 
    • Is the project user-friendly? 
    • Can the project provide real-world solutions? 
    • Can the project be used by an average person?
